Why did we choose a career in cleaning gutters?
Why did we choose cleaning gutters as our lifelong career?

If you could choose to have any job in the world, I bet you'd run from the thought of choosing to be a gutter cleaner. We often get asked what drew us to a life of cleaning gutters. The explanations make a lot of sense when you hear them, so we thought we'd answer the question on our new blog for those interested. What makes a man want to choose a job like gutter cleaning in place of all others?
The truth is that we could have easily chosen different paths in life, and everyone that works here at MC Gutters & Exteriors came from different backgrounds. I won't answer for them, but as a full-time gutter cleaner writing this I'll answer for myself. Gutter cleaning sounds like a nasty job but if you enjoy heights and working outside it's actually a lot easier and relaxing than a lot of jobs involving being on ladders on the sides of houses. I started out cleaning gutters as a kid, working for some of the city's most prominent gutter companies, like Gutter Repair & Install Victoria, and now I'm here working for a great company still. So as you'll guess, I enjoyed my time as a gutter cleaner and that's why I still do it today. I'd much rather be cleaning gutters than painting houses for instance. Both jobs involve being on ladders, but gutter cleaning is very stress-free work, simple and easy once you get good at it. Something like painting requires much more planning and it's easier to make mistakes.
I'd recommend a career of cleaning gutters to anyone who dreads going to university and wants to make money fast without a stressful job. Of course, you also need to not mind working outside. We often work in the rain and in the cold of winter. But this contrast makes working in the sunny summer days much more appreciated. And, lastly, being in the beautiful city of Victoria BC also makes working outside much more fun. So that's our explanation. We hope it answers your question.
